Overview

The MPT2500 Rugged-i™ wireless video camera is a breakthrough product in the family of camera and video hub products from MicroPower Technologies.

The camera incorporates disruptive, ultra-low power wireless technologies that eliminates data and power cables. Solar cells power the camera for outdoor applications and providing round-the-clock video surveillance system operation.

The camera consumes less that 15mW of power (1fps VGA @ 5,000 ft) with no maintenance requirements for ten years. Advanced camera features include a high resolution image sensor, a large field of view, electronic Pan/Tilt/Zoom operation, and selectable video frame rates from 1/20 FPS to 30 FPS.

Low Power, No Wire Solar System

MicroPower Technologies’ patent-pending, energy efficient, TrustLinx™ technology reduces wireless video camera power requirements by 1000x. The Rugged-i™ camera is powered by an integrated solar cell array that provides continuous power, even in low-light situations.

The camera operates in latitudes north of 60 degrees north, does not require direct sunlight, operates during overcast and bad weather conditions, and does not require precise alignment with the sun. An integrated internal recharging system enables operation through the hours of darkness for 24x7x365 surveillance. Internal batteries provide for backup or indoor operation.

Quick Surveillance Deployment

Up to 16 MPT2500 Rugged-i™ gucameras can be networked with any MicroPower wireless video hub, such as the MPT2710 MetroHub™ or MPT2720 MobileHub™, to survey an area. The area can be extended infinitely through the deployment of any number of camera/hub cells. The Rugged-i™ camera automatically associates itself with the nearest video hub and begins streaming video at the selected rate. The hub controls each camera in the network, decodes the video, stores the images, and transfers the video to a customer’s private LAN or the Internet for remote viewing and storage. The hub also provides analog video in NTSC and PAL format for interfacing with legacy video infrastructures.
